Chapter 7

“Thank you all for coming,” Crew said as he stood between Haven and Laylen in the pack kitchen. “How did you know where I was?”

“Micah. He used his GPS mojo and he saw where you were and what you were up against and called everyone to head there immediately,” Lexi explained. Crew smiled and shook his head in wonder.

“Crew? When are you going to realize that you are right where you belong? With the family who loves and respects you. You are none of the things those horrible people said you are,” Bastian said.

“Thanks, Bastian. It’s just hard, you know?”

“We know, Crew. We all come from some kind of fucked up family. But you have to realize that they had you for sixteen years and they lied to you about everything. You have been with us for over two hundred years. They don’t know you. They never did. We know you,” Xander added.

“Everything except for Chad. Damn that was trippy. There is no way you are a Chad,” Taylor said with a laugh. “You’re Crew. Our Crew, and we love you just the way you are.”

“Warts and all?” Crew asked and gave Taylor a mischievous grin.

“Warts and all,” Taylor agreed. “When are you going to learn that this family accepts everyone for who they are? No matter who they are, what they are, or what they like.” Taylor gave him a pointed look. Crew gave him a shy smile and nodded.

“So how much of that did you hear?” he asked.

“We got there as you were talking with your dad. We stepped up right behind your family as they joined you two,” Gabriel answered.

“How the hell those asswipes didn’t smell all of us there is beyond me. There is something seriously wrong with those wolves,” Xavier said.

“That’s what I was wondering, too,” Bailey joined in. “I think they were just so full of themselves and so focused on showing their superiority, that they didn’t have time to sniff the air.”

“You would have thought the fact that their noses are always in the air that they would have noticed us right away.” Cass snickered.

“They’ve always been like that. They probably did smell you all but thought you were unworthy of their attention,” Crew explained.

“Well they are the ones unworthy of your attention, brother,” Micah said as he and the others walked through a portal.

“Thanks, Micah.”

Micah stepped up to Crew and placed his hands on his shoulders. He bent and placed his lips next to Crew’s ear and whispered so that even all the shifters in the room couldn’t hear. “You are Crew Angel, not Chad Fitzpatrick. You are my brother and I will fight anyone to the death who wants to challenge me on that. I know who you are, Crew. I have always known exactly who you are and I accept you as you are. You belong to my family and don’t you dare ever run from us again.” Micah pulled back and their eyes met. He gave Crew a pointed look.
